A Foghorn-Leghorn Year

I realize that 50 percent (or more) of the population isn't paying attention to current events other than the price of groceries; such a sweet word, Foghorn Trump recently discovered and announced to the world, the idiot.

He keeps bringing up the lower price of eggs since he's been in office, but I thought the rationale was because all those chickens had to be slaughtered due to bird-flu or whatever; and the chicks wouldn't be old enough to lay eggs for 6-8 months, at which time there would be plenty of eggs and prices would go down.

How did that become political?  Trump takes the credit, just as he does for everything else he blows out of proportion; and if he can't bluff his way out of something, he blames Biden and the Radical Leftists.  What bullshit.

I'm still planning for the inevitable:  when I'll feel the need to flee the country in order to feel safe, independent, or free; they're all rolled together.  At least I'm not being scarfed up off the street...yet.

Unless you've been listening exclusively to Fox News and the like, you will have heard story after story of people whisked away who are here legally, or at least they were until last January.  They never imagined they were considered part of the dangerous criminals who would be rounded up by crackerjack, newly minted ICE agents.  Why don't they round up dangerous Americans, without provocation or thoughts of civil rights, and deport them instead of the Taco Lady?

I can't wait to see how they treat the first white South African (who Trump waltzed in this year) commit a heinous act against an American citizen.  But I suppose it will depend on whether the American is a White/Christian or Black/Brown/LGBTQ.  Am I wrong?

Switching gears now:

Affordability - a Democrat hoax; a con job, Trump calls it.  Of course the word doesn't mean a thing to ga-zillionnaires like him and his cronies.  Take DOGE for example:  Elon Musk, who now admits he shouldn't have gotten involved to begin with, given the hit Tesla's taken.  Shouldn't have fired all those people, slashing through what he perceived as unnecessary bureaucracy as skillfully as a surgeon with a chainsaw.

Oh, gee, he goofed!

What's happened to the people who weren't re-hired once the Feds realized there wasn't anyone competent left to run things?  After decades working for Uncle Sam, it's not so easy for many to get comparable positions, let alone in the same industry.

I'm willing to stand up to the ire of anyone I'm labeling incompetent because they were willing to forgo their principles and ignore laws by declaring loyalty, of all things, to old Foghorn.  And to me that is not being loyal and thus competent to We, the People.

What a mess he's making of the White House itself, but as I and others believe, he doesn't act like he's going anywhere in 3 years.  Look what he's botched in a single year:  tariffs back and forth at our expense; taking away medical care for millions by NOT doing anything prior to this Wednesday; slashing programs for those most in need, in favor of even MORE tax breaks to the uber-wealthy.  This doesn't bode well for our future; even if he is a Lame Duck.

The White House has become vulgar, like its current occupants. Trump's latest disgrace has been to add self-written plaques to his Presidential Wall of Shame.  Doesn't have the decency to use President Biden's photo but a framed picture of an autopen signature. He doesn't seem worried that the next President will undo everything he's undone.  Just look at the contempt on his face (above), our cockamamie Commander-in-Chief.

The only foreign dignitaries who'll joke that up with him are wearing sheets head-to-toe, I'll bet my bottom dollar; or uniforms loaded with unearned medals.  I'm getting more than a bit tired of advertisements to lure us all to Qatar, Dubai, etc., as if it's like heading for another beach in Europe.  That's what Trump, et al, really want from Gaza - waterfront property.

During the '70s oil boom in Saudi Arabia, Ex-Man #1 and others in the military were debating whether or not to take lucrative jobs offered to servicemen; in their case, misslemen.  But I wasn't about to head for the desert to be silenced, and with nothing to drink.  It's a Man's World over there, don't believe all the hype.

The blatant greasing-of-the-palms has been astonishing to witness.  What kind of turkeys do they think we are?!  From the Qatari plane to any number of Presidential Pardons following a million or more donated to something which benefits the Trump family.

The First (Lady) is cut from the same cloth, as Mom would say.  She's expected to receive $28 million for the new documentary, Melania, which, after premiering at the shamefully renamed Trump/Kennedy Center, will head straight to Prime.  And it'll have only cost Bezos $40 million or so.

Chump Trump change.  Think of that when you open your health care premium next month.
At least he's done some of what he promised voters by attempting to annex Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal; and renaming the Gulf of America and Department of War.  He's shut down the border, yes; but also succeeded in frightening the hell out of a substantial portion of the population.  He's further dividing the country and threatening the wrong side with censorship and jail time.

He didn't promise those things?  Then what were you voting for?  Oh, right, lower prices.  How's that going?  Trump has no time for our concerns - he's too busy designing ballrooms and battleships because he's a very aesthetic person.

I'll skim over the gold coins struck for them both; tearing down a piece of history without a thought; making the tragic death of the Reiners all about him; and how many? wars he claims to have solved.  I'll send thoughts and prayers to families of soldiers slain in Nigeria, Venezuela, or any other on Trump's list of shithole countries.

Take note, young people:  he's a perfect example of the expression, "Loose cannon on deck."

I know, I know, you don't care.  Then how about the following:

I recently heard an interview with a woman in charge of a community's food banks, replying to the reporter that Yes, indeedie, there were more people in need than before; no surprise to anyone.
But then she explained that the problem was compounded by the fact that companies are relying on AI to do their ordering, which in turn means less 'excess' (due to human error) to donate to these programs.  Here's a box I received from a friend years ago, which was greatly appreciated.  You don't know until you've walked in another's shoes.

AI's become a trickle-down problem, like the loss of natural habitat to endangered species.  Switching again:

I'm glad I'm not President Zelenskyy, having to kiss a gilded ass to save his people; and all the while knowing that any 'promises' uttered aren't worth a kopek once Trump speaks to Putin.  This is what, the 3rd time it's happened?

I've always believed that Vladimir has pictures, and that's why he holds so much sway over our own Bully.  Naw...Trump simply has no idea or care about the underlying issues between the two advesaries.

"Putin wants Ukraine to succeed."  Did Trump actually say that, more than once?  (Yes)  If Joe Biden had done any of the things I've written about today, hypocritical Republicans would have demanded his resignation, by force if necessary.  So why is Trump immune to accountability?  Forget it, that's rhetorical.

How many have died throughout the world after the dismantling of USAID?  How many young people will commit suicide because of a lack of outreach programs deemed too WOKE?  How many will go hungry and cold because of his lack of empathy?

Doesn't matter, Trump stacked the Supreme Court so he's immune to prosecution for crimes committed while in office.
Greed begets greed.  Bullies hang out together.  Selfish people cannot fathom charitable acts.  What can one do?

I love the expression, "A rooster one day, a feather duster the next." Or as Chip said, "Sooner or later, they all get it in the neck."

Resist injustice, I say, I say, and

Happy New Year!
