Look at this slogan: "Property destruction is not violence." Who taught them that? Parents? Teachers? Pastors? Peers?
These photos are from the Portland State library, recently occupied by student-and-non activists. As a parent paying through the nose for tuition, what would you think? I was going to go off on a rant, but I think I'll just post photos and let you draw your own conclusion.
In other matters...the smutty trial of Donald Trump re: hush-money. Was he really spanked with a rolled-up copy of Forbes? I imagine he's working overtime on damage-control on his marriage to Melania.Which brings up a hypothetical: What if Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution (requirements to become President) was amended to include the First Lady? Melania is only the second First Lady who was not born in the USA (John Quincy Adams's wife, Louisa, was born in London). Melania was born in Slovania and brought to the US by her modeling agency in 1996, when she was 26. Basic facts.Like most of us, I suspect her moral fibre was pretty-much already developed by that age; so perhaps, like in many countries, a philandering husband's behavior (which would humiliate most women here enough to head for Divorce Court) doesn't bother them as much as it does us.
I'll admit, I was surprised that Hillary Clinton stuck with Bill after the cigar-story became public; and was therefore not a fan of (what I perceived as) her willingness to forego principles for ambition. I feel somewhat the same about Melania.
I could care less what my neighbor's doing; but it's not the head of the PTA we're considering but positions with real influence, directly or indirectly, over all our lives.
So anyway, I'm just imagining the experiences of a teenager growing up in the former Yugoslovia vs the south side of Chicago. Very different, I'd guess. While young women here have been fighting for the #MeToo movement, what was she advocating inside the White House?
I'm wondering whether, if the Constitution was indeed amended, you think DJT would choose his wife over his presidential run? No need to answer.Back to the photos: Is this justified in any sense of the word? Where's the indignation for the suffering in the Sudan? Are those children any better off than Palestinian kids?
P.S. Estimate to repair damage to 5 floors of the library: $750,000-$875,000, not including repairs to electronics. Good job, kids.
At times like this, one must remember Scaramouche: "He was born with the gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad."
