September is Suicide Prevention Month.  For that reason I'd like to share a post from years ago about a friend of mine:

If you think suicides don't exist in YOUR line of work, consider the following (from the article):

"According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, lawyers are among the top five professions with the highest suicide rates. Attorneys follow dentists, pharmacists and physicians, with engineers fifth on the list."

Engineers?  Sure, deadlines.

It's good to focus on young people at this time, for social media is affecting them more than most of us can imagine; but let's not skim over the rest of society.  I know from experience how someone can get to such a dark place.  Many of us botch the attempt and seriously inujre ourselves in the process, but you don't think about that at the time.  Luck is a double-edged sword.

So let's all pay attention, ask questions and listen more.
