Is Anyone Boycotting Tesla (and other things)

With all the ruckus over Elon Musk's activities in the current administration, I can't help wondering if people will continue to buy Teslas.  There seems to be a variety of other electric cars out there which seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper, like calculators and computers; and then there's that silly thing about, "Not all charging stations are created equal."

Tessie's boo-boo
My dear friends are wholly against Trump, et al, but they love their 'Tessie';  I imagine it's a bit of a struggle.  Hell, if we go to war with Sweden, I'll have to wrestle with selling my Volvo and tossing Mom's meatball recipe.

The other day I was filling out my pre-arrival questionnaire for a routine doctor's appointment.  I had to stop and blink at, "Do you attend church?" followed by "How many times (per week/month/year)."  I checked "Decline."

What difference does that make when you've got your cold stethoscope pressed to my chest or scary-looking instruments poised at various orifices?  What, are you going to insert something to turn me into a Born-Again Christian?  I'm getting ready for my appointment now, so I'll let you know what they say.

I am concerned that a group of Elon Musk's proteges, who can't even drink in some states, are now able to poke around the organization which distributes Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid payments.  What if they don't consider a medical issue anything major - will they withold insurance money?  Maybe one of their grandmothers had it, and it wasn't so bad.  She was going to die soon anyway.  A gal at work told me that when she tried to look up the balance on her (state sponsored) health card online, she read,

Page not found.

Imagine the Gen Z discussions:  "Gee, instead of lists, why not put available kidneys up on Ebay and earn tons of money," or, "Lets punish anyone who smokes by withholding cancer treatments." (They'll die anyway will become commonplace.)

It's only a matter of time before questionnaires include political affiliations; you see how that's already starting.  As it is, living in a 'blue-state' is becoming riskier when it comes to disaster relief.

And come on already: the Panama Canal, Greenland, Canada, Gaza, did I miss one?  Whether they're real or fake land-grab threats, it's become apparent the President has no qualms about using the military if it suits him.  Imagine the mess if we go back into the Middle East; and when kids stop enlisting voluntarily they'll implement another Draft.  Thankfully, I don't have kids or grandkids to worry about.

I wouldn't make plans yet to build a fancy place down in Panama - at least not unless you don't mind HUGE frickin' bugs.  And Trump Tower Gaza?  I won't say to pro-Palestinians who boycotted the election or voted for Donald, Told you so, for they've heard it enough by now.

And forget any level playing field when it comes to getting a good-education-therefore-better-job if you're a minority; a member of the LGBTQ+ community; handicapped; and women.  I'm still hoping (we) get reparations for earning fractions of what our male counterparts earned, and now affecting Social Security benefits.  Why aren't Congresswomen pushing for that?  Probably because the proposal would be dumped into the first male wastebasket.  For more, read Cougars for Change.

Finding a Mate is no longer of interest to me, but it is alarming to hear increasingly derogatory remarks like Women belong in the kitchen; Your body, my choice; and They certainly should not be in combat.  As the ranks of the Proud Boys, et al, grow, Lord help women.  We already know how Trump feels, so there's no protection there.   And to any young lady who fantasizes about the 'olden days of stay-at-home wife,' take a moment to read this advertisement about Marge and Charlie, c. 1960s.  I can't believe how backwards we are becoming on all fronts.

Speaking of reparations, here's another prediction: reparations for Jan 6 convicts.  With all that's going on THIS week, we've pretty much forgotten about LAST week - a pattern which will continue indefinitely, ugh.  When we least expect it (or when Trump needs to deflect attention away from something really serious) he'll announce the January 6th 'Patriots" will receive full back-pay and any benefits, plus legal fees, wait and see.

Jesus, how much is all this gonna cost us?  I thought you wanted him to lower prices at the grocery store.

In storage
So at the doctor's office the receptionist gave me a bunch of gobbledygook about the Wellness Visit determining my overall health, mental and physical, and therefore, if I'm in crisis, they want to make sure I've got a (religious) person to reach out to; no one's ever asked.  I see.   Everyone was being so pleasant, including Amy, that all I said after her explanation was,

"I thought it was in case you wanted to slip me something and turn me into...something else."  No sense being nasty.

Don't you love the idea of sending unwanteds to Guantanamo Bay or even better, El Salvador's prisons?  Guatamala's made the same offer.  After dealing with illegals (he'll be in power a long time), will Trump next turn his attention to OUR repeat offenders by demanding state and local law enforcement supply lists of their undesirables?  We don't have enough prison space here, and maybe that would be cheaper than building more jails and rehabs, especially after tariffs.  Who's next - the homeless; LGBTQ's; abortion doctors; Pit Bull owners?

And let's stop referring to one another as Radical Leftists or Nazi Racists.  On the extreme fringes, sure; but the rest of us are not THAT different.  We do have more similarities than differences, but we've forgotten that.  Together we need to make sure we're not complacent about whichever 'decree' one objects to the most, there are so many to choose from, and say so...for silence implies approval.

Things won't turn back in 4 years, or even 2, if we're not careful.  What Trump is initiating will affect the rest of our lives, and longer.  Post-Trump will be more of the same.  But my original question remains:  is anyone boycotting Elon's influence by not buying Teslas?  The memory of our First Buddy jumping and dancing on stage makes me ill.  A boycott isn't too leftist radical, and in any event I don't think Elon would care.

He's more interested in Space and reaching Mars first, where Trump will build a fabulous resort.  And similar to voiced plans for Gaza, they'll also build housing for (Palestinians/low-paid workers) to wait on the privileged; dontcha know that's what he meant in his slippery speech.

Well I say GREAT - beam up the 78 million who voted you in and leave Earth for the rest of us.
