They're Getting Closer...Am I Worried?

In earlier posts I opined that we are ALL on Trump/Musk's lists at some level or another.  Who isn't feeling angst for the hundreds of thousands of our citizen-Civil Servants suddenly being canned?  Who isn't affected by personal stories about the consequences of the loss of income; medical care or schooling for children;  federal funding to do good things, like save lives?

Of course it sounds ridiculous to spend money on a transgender play in some third-world country--if you take nothing else into consideration.  Spending U.S. money in other places for any reason sounds ridiculous--if you take nothing else into consideration.

But we must.
We need to let Big Bird and others make children, and adults, aware of the good parts of life outside of their war-torn country; if only for half an hour.  We need to give them a chance to keep their inner flame of Hope alive...so they don't pick up guns and come after the rest of us.

Everyone I speak to is searching for a different place to live and retire; me, I'm still banking on political asylum, since I don't have the requisite buy-in for dual-citizenship.  But first I must retrieve my treasures in storage.

It's about a month away until I hit the skies to empty the 5'x5' locker in New Jersey, which I've had since 2016, when Mom died.  I'll be sorting, re-packing, shipping and donating for 3 or 4 days, then point my rental West for my 13th cross-country trip; accompanied this time by oversized items like my totem pole (top); this massive gourd dog (maybe); and my most precious-precious, which will accompany me into overnight rooms.

I'm a pokey driver so will allow 2-3 weeks to return to work in Oregon.  I have a basic route in mind, but that depends on the weather.  For directions, I'll be taking my old, dependable Walmart Atlas, since I still don't do Apps (I prefer traveling without planning the particulars); and while driving will likely feel much relieved that I've finallye tackled that burden.

So now that the budget bill slipped through the House while we were distracted with DOGE's schenanigans, where, exactly, are they going to cut the $880 billion?  I've seen one chart of Congressional districts and the anticipated loss of Medicaid recipients for each; and for Oregon the average cut was 25%.

Am I worried?  Not really.  I'm guessing that they won't take away my health benefits because I'm old enough; and if they do, no great shake.  I rarely go to the doctor, and at this point if I die, I die.

Also, if they even HINT at reducing Social Security, there will be plenty of us who'll storm the Capitol; rolling over the Jan. 6th defenders with our wheelchairs and walkers.

Viva la Seniors!
