It's smokey here in Oregon, maybe you heard on the news. Last week the Canyonville/Milepost 97 fire, about 70 miles north of here, began with 15 acres along I-5. Next time (we all) checked it was up to 75, then 500, and now it's at 11,000 acres and only 10% contained. Northwest winds are blowing the smoke into the Rogue Valley, where I live, ach ach.
Apparently there was some confusion in the beginning as to who was in charge of fighting the fire, which resulted in the current firestorm. Another outfit was sent in to manage the situation but by then it was too late. The fire was started by an illegal camp fire, which will be blamed on a homeless person whether or not that's true. And just now on the news they reported that a trailer full of fire fighting equipment, left on the interstate for the firefighters, was stolen; so if anyone spots it with the logo on the side, please report. What's wrong with people?
We've counted ourselves lucky for not having bad air quality up til now, but it's here now. Fortunately for the little tykes on the property who had a combined birthday party on Saturday, the smoke mostly dissipated; but when it was over, back it came, ach ach.
