Here I go again!  I'm currently sitting in my friend's cheery dining room, drinking coffee and glancing at the Road Atlas.  I hope to hit the road shortly to begin my cross-country trip, and it's sure to be a doozy.

Dave asked if I wanted to know how much gas will wind up costing me.  No, thanks, or else I might not get started and then they'd have to declare me on next year's taxes.

For anyone unfamiliar with my situation, I'm making this trip on a shoestring; taking short hops between friends and family; using my food stamps to eat (valid in all 50 states, or so the computer claims); and praying I don't have too many, if any, snags along the way.

But I'm heading for Mom...she needs me and I love her.  So, as student Diana used to say,

"With God and the Virgin..."
